The Coterie Theater was formed here in Kansas City in the year 1979 by two graduate students.

This popular venue is located on level one of the Crown Center complex. In its 30+ years since opening, it has given over 7,500 performances. The theater has been labelled as one of the five top in the US and is proud to offer a wide variety of performances for an equally diverse audience.

Being firmly on the music map when it comes to the jazz scene, there are many live music venues in this groovy city. The 18th and Vine area of town is a must for the sheer quality of jazz, blues and soul you will find here; visitors will not be disappointed.
